No Internet? Slow Internet? No Problem!

dominKnow’s new mobile player provides organizations with an integrated, secure way to deliver training content to any user — at home, at the office, or on the road

Las Vegas NV, DevLearn 2013, October 22, 2013 – dominKnow’s new mobile player provides access to learning content without the need for continuous Internet connectivity. Learners are free to consume content where and when they want it — on any mobile iOS or Android device.

“Offering a full learning experience across all platforms is central to our development philosophy,“ says dominKnow CEO Luke Hickey. “Our new mobile player is an important evolution that opens up a world of opportunity for mobile learning. While other solutions focus on getting existing material to play on an iPad, our goal is to give organizations the ability to provide the most effective learning experience to their employees — no matter where or in what context they take it.”

dominKnow’s mobile player isn’t restricted to playing content created in their all-in-one authoring tool Claro. Learners can download any SCORM or Experience API (xAPI / TinCan) content to their tablet or smartphone, play it (regardless of their connection) and track and synchronize their learning activity back to their LMS.

Open API for full LMS Integration

If an organization’s LMS doesn't have a mobile content player, the organization or their LMS vendor can take full advantage of dominKnow’s open API to integrate the player with their system. Once integrated, a user could, for example, authenticate with the LMS, browse the content available, and download it to their device of choice for online or offline consumption. If offline, once they connect back to the Internet any local progress information such as test scores and content completion are automatically synched.

Built for a Mobile World

“As one of the first content authoring tools to publish 100% standards compliant HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS, Claro has always been a leader in mobile content creation,” says dominKnow CEO Luke Hickey. “But we haven't stopped there. Earlier in the year we introduced Claro Flow, the evolution of our content authoring and management software that outputs fully responsive, HTML5 content to automatically adjust to the user’s screen.”

“Today’s announcement of our mobile player continues our commitment to mobile learning technology and solutions. Now anyone can consume mobile-ready content when and where they want, with or without an Internet connection, on the iOS or Android device of their choosing. We wanted a solution that provided our customers choice and freedom when it comes to how their learners chose to access content.”
