Introduction

Salience Learning, founded in 2019, is a learning and development firm specializing in servicing the life science and biopharmaceutical industries. They are guided by “bringing the science of learning to the business of science.” They combine expertise in science-based learning with deep industry knowledge to help biopharma companies address complex business challenges through the development of custom, semi-custom, and tailored learning solutions. With an emphasis on applying proven adult learning principles to their client solutions, Salience Learning is at the forefront of transforming learning and development in the biopharmaceutical sector.

Problem

The primary challenge facing Salience Learning was how to efficiently manage large volumes of Salience Intellectual property (IP) content while customizing it for different contexts and target audiences.  Without a centralized system, they often had to duplicate, recreate, and update their IP content in multiple locations. This created inconsistency, rework, and inefficiencies, making it difficult to scale and grow their operations while providing high-quality training programs.

The second challenge was maintaining Salience IP content developed in Articulate Rise. These files began to grow rapidly, and the team lacked an efficient and effective way to manage and structure its IP content across systems and courses.

A primary goal of Salience Learning was to enable the efficient development and maintenance of their Capability Academies to support targeted personalized learning. dominKnow | ONE’s management and flexible authoring capabilities enabled their team to easily create personalized learning academies and job-specific learning objects at scale. Their teams can now work throughout the review process in real time, reducing delays and improving feedback accuracy and overall governance of core IP content. The new review capabilities improved their processes in three major ways:

  2. Authors can view feedback directly within the authoring interface, allowing them to track, address, and account for comments and revisions more efficiently.
  3. Content that wasn’t ready for review (or perhaps even publishing), can be tagged and thus eliminated as part of what the content reviewers and/or learners would see.

Migrating Articulate Rise Legacy Content

Selecting a solution was the first hurdle, but once selected, they faced the task of migrating their existing Articulate Rise content into dominKnow | ONE. Fortunately dominKnow’s Rise-to-dominKnow | ONE conversion service made this easy. They were able to seamlessly migrate their entire library with minimal effort. The conversion service saved Salience Learning a tremendous amount of time, enabling the team to quickly take advantage of dominKnow | ONE’s interactive and design flexibility, improve their content, and personalize it for their new pathways for their entire library.
