Alexander Salas joins Instructional Designers in Offices Drinking Coffee.

Have you ever done an Escape Room?  There are real world versions as well as virtual versions.  They started as a fun group activity and now instructional designers are learning about eLearning engagement from Escape Rooms. Alexander Salas joined us again to guide us through his Escape Room design process.

You can find Alex’s resources at his website here.

We watched Alex demo a project where he created a short backstory where learners are trapped and the only way to escape is through applying what they need to learn. We ran out of time before we could use the chatroom’s ideas to create a short backstory but we hope everyone felt motivated to create their own escape room project to add into their learning mix.

eLearning escape rooms are a highly creative way to engage your learners with gamification and deliberate practice all in one. Please join us in the dominKnow linked in group and let us know if you have some ideas to share about escape rooms as learning solutions.

To see all the comments from the chat, check out the full session right here.

And to ask more questions, or participate in extended conversations about this episode, please join us in the IDIODC LinkedIn Group.
