dominKnow | ONE 7.4.6 Release: new features & functionality overview

dominKnow | ONE’s 7.4.6 release continues to redefine what’s possible for instructional designers and learning teams. This latest release delivers intuitive authoring intelligence, advanced accessibility features, and workflow improvements that make it faster than ever to design, manage, and deliver responsive, accessible learning at scale.

Whether you’re creating onboarding, compliance, or customer training, the latest release of dominKnow | ONE helps teams build better content in less time, while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and global reach.

Design Freedom with Built-In Authoring Intelligence

Guided Layouts with the Design Assistant

The new Design Assistant introduces AI-inspired layout intelligence that helps authors instantly organize their content. It automatically suggests responsive Row, Group, and Element layouts, so you can experiment freely, preview results instantly, and revert anytime with one click.

This gives designers freedom to test new layouts without the risk of breaking page structures or wasting time rebuilding.

Precision Layout Control with New Sizing Handles

Authors can now adjust Row, Group and Element widths visually using on-stage sizing handles. Drag left or right to resize instantly—no extra clicks. Adjacent elements adjust together, keeping layouts balanced across all breakpoints. Authors can easily realize their unique design vision in fully responsive content.

This is a small change that dramatically speeds up design fine-tuning, especially when bringing unique designs to responsive content.

Visual Page Organization with Drag-and-Drop

dominKnow | ONE’s Page Structure panel now supports full drag-and-drop control. Authors can reorder Sections, Rows, Groups, Elements, and even sub elements such as individual tabs, carousel slides, labels or items within tabs and carousel slides—simply by dragging.

This feature turns structural editing into a quick visual task, eliminating the need to dig through menus and making large-scale design updates significantly faster.

Build Sections Faster with “Add a Row” and Three-Dot Menus

A new persistent Add a Row bar means you can insert new layouts instantly, regardless of what’s selected. Updated three-dot menus for Sections, Rows, and Elements make common actions—duplicate, rename, delete—available in a single click.

The result: faster section building, easier prototyping, and fewer interruptions in creative flow.

Copy-and-Paste with Actions in Responsive Content (Flow)

When you copy an element in your Responsive (Flow) pages, dominKnow | ONE now preserves trigger-based actions, actions such as “Show,” “Hide,” links to assets or variable changes—so you can save interactive components as favorites and utilize them on pages without re-wiring them.

It’s especially useful for authors creating repeated patterns like reveal buttons or toggled panels, allowing interaction design to scale across pages with minimal setup.

Built-In Accessibility: Inclusive Design Made Easier

Define ARIA Roles and Hidden States

Authors can now seamlessly adjust ARIA settings in our existing authoring workflows. ARIA roles and hidden statuses can be adjusted for unique needs. So an image can be set to its unique purpose (visual, button to reveal something on the page, or link to an outside resource) and communicate that function to screen readers.

This helps ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA and enhances usability for all learners.

Adjustable Playback Speed for Audio and Video

Video and audio media players now include speed controls. Learners can slow down or accelerate playback to suit their needs, meeting accessibility standards and giving all users control, improving learning comprehension and providing personalization and control.

Accessible Engage Interactions

Multiple-Pulldown Engage questions are now fully keyboard and screen-reader accessible. Authors can design more inclusive practice activities without external coding or add-ons.

Better Learning Assessments

Review Before Submit

New publishing and theme settings allow learners to review and change answers before final submission. This enables organizations to provide assessments that permit their learners to fully review and/or skip questions before submitting the assessment for grading. This new option is particularly helpful for certification or regulatory training environments.

Global Translation and Delivery

XLIFF Export for Translation Workflows

dominKnow | ONE now supports XLIFF (XML Localization Interchange File Format) for translations in addition to our standard Excel and XML export/import options. This standard format streamlines collaboration with professional translation tools and AI-powered localization services, helping teams deliver multilingual learning faster and with fewer errors.

Organizations working across markets will find XLIFF critical for single-source design and global scalability.

Speaking of AI, we now have AI translation and new advanced translation management tools available in beta. Interested in learning more? Contact your customer success manager or account executive.

Streamlined Authoring Workflows

Faster “New Project” Creation

Starting new projects is now simpler and smarter. The redesigned New Project workflow guides authors through six clear options—Blank, Copy Recent, Baseline, Marketplace, PowerPoint Import, or Custom.

Organizations can further guide their authors and promote reuse by designating Recommended Themes to drive brand consistency across all new content, ensuring alignment between learning design and corporate identity.

Variable Finder: Quick Access to System and Custom Variables

With dominKnow | ONE authors have access to many system variables along with their own custom global (reusable), project or page variables. The new Variable Finder panel enables authors to easily search, filter, and select or insert variables directly into text fields, displaying information such as Project Title or Passing Score automatically.

This speeds up template creation and reduces maintenance errors in large course libraries.

Target Sub-Elements in Engage Components

Authors can now target tabs, panels, carousels, and callouts within Engage components using actions, enabling deeper interactivity and responsive behavior without custom code. dominKnow continues to lead the industry, providing their clients with the most powerful and flexible content authoring solution on the market.

Lightbox Interaction and Branching Enhancements

Setting up “Show Page in Lightbox” actions is now more intuitive. Authors can create, reuse, or share target pages directly within the interaction flow, simplifying single-source maintenance and cross-project synchronization. And when creating branching exercises, dominKnow now guides them in finding and selecting their target page, making it simple no matter how long their course might be.

Why 7.4.6 Matters for Learning Teams

For instructional designers, learning developers, and L&D leaders, dominKnow | ONE 7.4.6 delivers tangible value:

  • Speed and Efficiency – Guided layouts, drag-and-drop editing, and faster project creation save hours every week.
  • Design Confidence – Real-time visual adjustments mean authors can experiment safely and revert instantly.
  • Accessibility by Design – Built-in ARIA roles, accessible interactions, and playback controls make compliance simple.
  • Scalability – XLIFF translation and shared Lightbox/Target pages enable global publishing from a single source.
